This is my attempt to re-capture the time when the internet was wild and un-tamed, before it became owned by corporate interests and where it was still possible to find interesting sites run by enthusiasts instead of the faceless advertising, Algorithm, AI driven mess it's become.
I was inspired by finding the old html files of a website I had back in 2001-2002, and I've put it online again here...
I've also been watching You Tube videos about the Personal Web which also is referred to as Indie-Web. There seems to be a movement away from Social Media towards Self Expression in the form of hand-written & independant websites. Web-Rings are making a comback....
This site is my own tentative step back into the world of D.I.Y. internet. I'll try to add links to sites that I find interesting or inspirational as I find them....
I've had a Hand-Written Hobby Website since at least 2017 (possibly longer), which is dedicated to the small niche radio pastime Maritime DSC Monitoring...
It's still in use, and try to maintain it as best I can. It's very basic in its layout and design, using very little clever HTML or CSS but it works and is all my own creation. We don't need to let the man control all our online life.
I also have had a self-hosted Wiki site using DokuWiki for a few years...
and while it's great for storing useful informtation for later. It's not really a place for creativity and FUN so that's why this new site is UNDER CONSTRUCTION
